I like to understand motives and causal factors, and it is obvious that if Carrier were a Jew, that could explain why he would take personal insult at my book, rather than giving substantive and serious criticism (which the above hit-piece does not do). I take him at his word that he is not. Why, then, the personal affront, rather than a conventional, logical critique? Jewish funding, perhaps? Or just an entrenched, leftist-liberal mindset that somehow responds irrationally to any criticism of Jews, even long-dead ones?

As for my time at Univ of Helsinki, that was a zero-pay appointment that was terminating within a few months and hence was functionally complete. No real loss there. But that doesn’t make for a juicy story, does it?

I read your reply to this review. You speculated Carrier might be a Jew… as if that explains away his position. Why not make it interesting and debate him whether Hitler’s 3rd Reich was Christian. Carrier already defeated Richard Weikart but now he has Mikael Nilsson’s research to add to his arguments.

I read Dalton’s translation of Rosenberg’s Mythus. In it, he notes that Alfred believed 1) Jesus existed 2) Jesus was Aryan and not a Jew. Dalton proceeds to claim Alfred made an error instead of admitting the man was some form of Christian. According to James B. Whisker’s book, Rosenberg was raised Lutheran but ended up an anti-clerical Cathar similar to Otto Rahn–i.e. unorthodox but true believers.
