“This is what I think Jaclyn was trying to say.” — About whom? Where? She doesn’t provide any real world example she is talking about. She implies it but fails to provide any evidence of it ever happening in the implied case.

To complain about reality, one must address reality.

But the internet never forgets. This link has also been added to the main essay as an editorial note.

There’s one question I’ve always wanted to ask atheists. Please do read what I have to say before assuming that I’m just another stupid theist trying to propagate my religion because it is THE WORD OF GOD. I’m not. I have often seen that most atheists have knowledge about Abrahamic religions – Christianity, Islam, Judaism etc – only. Assuming they have done considerable amount of reading on the teachings of these religions and have found them to be inconsistent in ideals (with their own or per se). Without any further searching, they’ve turned towards Atheism as it slowly gaining popularity. I am from India & a Hindu by birth. Although I have not read all or any of the scriptures of Hinduism (there are many), whatever I have read is mostly consistent with my own values and also Science and logic. Tesla’s work in Science was influenced by Vedic Philosophy. Not that that should convince you to accept the beliefs of Hinduism, but it should at least grab your attention enough to compel you to read about it. I am not here to promote Hinduism, just want you to research more on it.

As for JaclynGlenn, she irks me to no end. Her views on religion and feminism are ignorant. Most of her videos are based on internet articles that other people have written. There’s nothing original about her. And I completely agree with you. She’s not in touch with reality and talks about ideologies without specifically addressing those who propagate it. It’s scary to know that she has so mamy followers. But then again, people like to follow whatever will make them seem cool.

I’ve been run out of feminist forums, not because I wasn’t feminist enough, but because I was new to the forum, so I had to be beaten down and told that I was really a misogynist in disguise. I have no patience for these kinds of petty power trips. It’s bullying, pure and simple, and sadly, it happens all too often in groups which are focused on any kind of equality issue. This is what I think Jaclyn was trying to say.

I also do not know why she associates herself with The Amazing Atheist, who is clearly a misogynist of the nastiest kind. But people often have strange associations. Maybe she really doesn’t know how much he hates women, since her primary focus seems to be on atheism and not feminism.

So by all means criticize me for defending her. But I don’t really know much about Jaclyn Glenn, other than that she’s an atheist. I’ve seen a handful of her videos. She may be a misogynist – I haven’t a clue – I’ll take some time later and see if I can see where she really stands. But on this issue, I can see where she’s coming from.

It is like Douglas Adams famous puddle joke. Until later….

That’s rich. My responses are inadequate!? You have flatly refused to address my actual arguments, explicitly and openly and repeatedly, without relent. That is quintessential inadequacy!

You clearly cannot argue against my actual arguments, so you try bullshitting endlessly, even as I repeatedly ask you to address my actual arguments.

It’s really laughable. You should be embarrassed.

I’ll take it up again another time in another semi-related post (morality etc.) sometime in the future. BTW, you’re not the only busy person. Until then….

Cheers

The person who calls a thoughtful and educational analysis “bitching” is the one who needs to get a life.
