Of my six alleged accusers:

1. O attended a talk I gave at her university earlier in the day. She had and sought no professional relationship with me.

2. C was an acquaintance letting me crash at her place before a speaking engagement. We had no professional relationship nor did she ask for one.

3. M is a personal friend and once lover of mine. We have never had nor did she ever seek any professional relationship with me.

4. Dadabhoy was my peer and professional equal, a fellow blogger on my network, not in my employ or tutelage or under my leadership or control. I had no power over them that they didn't likewise command over me.

5. Frank was my employer, not my employee. As a presiding officer of the ASU SSA, she contracted me to speak for her campus organization, and held more power over me than I did her, as she was in control of whether I would ever be invited to return. Nevertheless, I did not see anything inappropriate in her conduct toward me. And we neither had nor discussed any other professional relationship.

6. Lane was my employer, not my employee. As a presiding officer of Skepticon, she had contracted me to speak at Skepticon for six consecutive years, and held more power over me than I did her, as she was in control of whether I would ever be invited to return, and over the nature of all financial contracts (such as my revenue arrangement for book sales). And indeed she demonstrated that fact by both ending my sales contract and disinviting me as soon as I broke up with her; I then offended her with a poorly worded letter seeking to restart our relationship, and by being, to Lane's expressed displeasure, publicly affectionate with another woman at the following Skepticon (incidentally, M).

Nevertheless, though I think her ending my sales contract and disinviting me after that was rather petty, I did not see anything inappropriate in her conduct toward me. And she never worked for or studied under me. Over the years, during and before our relationship, I wrote her some letters of recommendation based on her demonstrated abilities in running Skepticon. And in some of those cases (well before our sexual relationship began) she did jokingly offer to pay me with sex (not once, but twice), which I do believe she meant (a kind of kidding on the square), but not literally as an exchange for services. Although do think about how this would look if I were the one emailing her those things, and not the other way around.
