Next Sunday (October 18th) I’ll be debating Jason DeCosta on his version of the Israel Only theory, which purports to “fix” all the problems I found before in The Incompetent Crankery of the Israel Only Movement (discussed on MythVision years ago).
DeCosta’s allowing that some Christians may have been converted Gentiles and not all “lost sheep of Israel,” but arguing in general it is still the case that when Paul (or any New Testament author) talks about bringing Gentiles in without having to sign on to the Old Covenant, he means “scattered Israelites being called back” and not Gentiles being newly brought in (the “Israel Only” part); and they were already saved as planned in the 70s AD, and so the “apocalypse” already happened and Christianity is a closed book and should be abandoned—it does nothing for anyone to claim to be a Christian now. (That view is called Full Preterism, which I debated before with Don Preston in Did Jesus Get It Wrong About the End Times? and followed up with Did the Rapture Already Happen!? No. Nor Will It Ever.)
You can look up DeCosta’s books and other materials in the debate description at the host channel MythVision. It will be live with Q&A at the end so come one come all. Mark your calendars!

Wow, a crank actually having moderated their position?! That’s really impressive!
I’m going to guess it’s still crank bullshit, but that’s actually kind of reassuring about human potential!
