While I continue to work all day in the studio recording audio for On the Historicity of Jesus (thanks to Pitchstone Publishing), while Sheffield continues working to produce an electronic edition (that process is out of my hands), I have to get some announcements out. I know, I still haven’t gotten to the comments queue. Have not found the time yet. And with Thanksgiving coming up as well, it certainly won’t happen this week.

But meanwhile, those who want to hang out with me in person, or see me on cable access TV, get out your December calendars…

I will be the keynote speaker for the Humanist Community of Central Ohio at their annual Winter Solstice Potluck (details here). That will happen Saturday, December 6 (2014) from noon to 3pm, at the Big Walnut Park Shelter (5000 East Livingston Ave., Columbus). Ten dollar entry. At a spacious park, families with kids welcome. It may be wintery. But the talk is indoors. I will be speaking on philosophy and reason, from a humanist perspective. I haven’t fully decided on all the things I’ll talk about, but among other things, I’m considering discussing the intersection of atheism and feminism, and where we go from here. With Q&A. So that will be fun.

The night before I will also be discussing the “Origins of Christianity and Historicity of Jesus” for the Secular Student Alliance at Ohio State University. That will be Friday, December 5, from 6 to 8pm. The details of where, and who can attend (I don’t know if it’s open to the public), are not yet available, but those interested should watch the SSA at OSU Facebook wall (link above) the week before the event to see if they announce anything.

I’ll have books to sell and sign at both events, mainly Sense and Goodness without God and On the Historicity of Jesus. And of course I’ll sign anything you bring.

I will be discussing my book On the Historicity of Jesus with David Tamayo (of the Hispanic American Freethinkers) and (most likely) co-hosts Kayla Turzak and C.J. Duncan on their Virginia / DC cable access show, Road to Reason on Sunday, December 14 (2014) during the 3 o’clock hour (EST). They broadcast live in Fairfax County on public access channels. But they also have a ustream account, for watching the live broadcast from anywhere. They also have a YouTube channel, for watching later. Call in is 1-(703)-573-5483.
